Laurence Lau
Laurence Lau is an investment professional, having been an institutional dealer for 5 years in Australia and research head for the last 7 years with 3 local/foreign broking houses. He is also a frequent contributor to The Edge, Business Times (Singapore) and Smart Investor. Over the last 2 years, he has built his investment advisory firm, Market Pulse, licensed by the Securities Commission. It publishes a much sought after weekly newsletter for subscribers. He also has a weekly investment column in Nanyang Siang Pau and The Sun. His investment philosophy is very much “top-down investing”, getting the big picture right before moving to pick the sector plays and then the right stocks for exposure. He believes in market timing by assessing sentiment, capital flows, interest rate expectations and earnings downgrade/upgrade. He is a firm proponent that to properly read the market, one must be able to predict what investors will do next, not what investors should be doing next as humans are dictated by fear and greed, not so much PE ratios and NAV.
Lee Cheng Hooi
He is Malaysia’s leading technical analyst for The Edge since February 1995. Since his return from the London School of Economics with a MSc in Statistics in 1985, he has worked as a Treasurer and fund manager for the past 12 years. Cheng Hooi attended numerous technical analysis seminars around the world with foremost experts including Robert Miner (Gann techniques), Max Wenk (Elliott Wave), Russell Sands (The Turtle System) and Jeanne Long (Financial Astrology). He is a technical analysis specialist who uses the Advanced GET, Fibonacci & Galactic Trader, SuperChart, Metastock and The Turtle System software. Cheng Hooi’s predictions of the KLSE since 1995 have been uncanny in his accuracy, often at precisely the correct price and time. One of the most startling predictions was the 1997 crash, which was foretold 2 months in advance of the event. His call in August 1998 for the low of 261.33 was perfect in its timing as the KLCI bottomed out in the following month. Cancellation Policy	Cancellations are valid only in writing (either through fax or mail). Full refunds applicable if written notice is received at least 2 weeks before each program. A 25% cancellation fee will be levied for cancellations received less than 2 weeks before the program. No refunds after commencement of seminar. Substitutions are allowed.
