Besides the answer "my boss sent me when he should be attending himself!" ;)
why are you really here?...

If you're looking for answers at the conference...

• List down the questions and remember to ask at the right session!
• Try lateral thinking... as you're listening to the speakers, expand on how the same information can be applied to your organization
• When an idea strikes, write it down or it's gone!
• Read all conference materials including those sessions you missed. You'll never know when it comes in handy!

If you're looking for opportunities...

• The best place to hang out is the Exhibition Hall
• Bring lots of business cards
• Bring lots of your organization's corporate brochures
• Use a small roller luggage bag so you can move around easily and comfortably to dispose and collect materials without your hands full and aching by the end of the day... sounds familiar? :)
• Carry a stapler with you. Staple business cards to the materials for easy reference and action when you get back to work.

Last but not least...

• Hey! Go slow on the food! Make full use of the lunch and tea breaks to network and meet as many people as possible
• Then, follow-up with potentials as soon as possible.
